Thanmathra movie Directed by Blessy was a strong classical structural entertainment ache movie. The movie has some emotional motive scene which he depicts through Rameshan Nair and his family. Rameshan Nair acted by Mohanlal who has born and brought up from middle class family lives a happy life with his wife and children.
Suddenly break up from the mental status and fall on in to Alzhimers loosening memory and go back to childhood memories that he has cherished on the age of 45. Mohan lal on one day said that he never go through the clinical study to perform the character in this movie.
He only studied his father as he has showed the same symptoms of Alzhimers when he was went down from the bed and wounded with blood on head side. And starts off acting like a child during his old age times.
Similarly mohanlal did the same character transformation in the movie like itching the nose smoothly and showing headache during the travel on the way back to his ancestral home. The song ithaloornnu veena sung by Bhavagahakan M.Jayachandran can see mohanlal exhibiting childhood memories in this film.
The lyrics has been truely justify the illness of Alzhimers and the destruction of family from a strong build up. A bench of dried leafs cut off from the branches of a well root tree shows how Rameshan Nair and his family went down from the family structure , and his professional status. Rameshan Nair stands in the movie most helpless man in the family will leave you heart ache when you watch the movie on screen.
And his wishes to make his son a civil service person leave the two bed apartment and steps down from the place make us cry on the each and every characters emotional picture which Blessy was showcased in the movie. It hurts more when you go for a second watch because it’s recall you how the Rameshan Nair family used to be with middle class family life. Totally this movie deserves more appreciation than a simple classical odd.
After watching the movie many of the Doctors asked Mohanlal how you acted on the movie as we had treated patients having same symptoms of Alzhimers.
