Javed Akthar whose father Jan Nisar Aktar was reputed Urdu poet and Hindi film lyricist . He began his career as a poetry maker in late 70’s. Only a small amount of friends circle familiar with his non film work included Salim Khan and Chopra.
Chopra was looking for his movie Silsila a new lyrcist . The movie revolves around a poet ( Amithab Bachan) and his passion for looking his first lover ( Reka) that endures beyond his marriage to another women Jaya Bachan. The film maker as a usual talk asked singer Lata Mangeshkar for recommendation for a lyricist. She suggested a man he is new to Hindi film , Akthar.
Akthar bow down to Chopra’s Charm and persuasion . Aktar was clueless about lyrics of the song because tune was already been composed by Duo Shiv Hari. Akthar met Chopra and composers on the way back to home he write few lines with reference to landscape and flowers. It was about romance (Amitabh bachan) finds expression of Rekha in the fields of Holland.
Where ever the eye wanders it only sees flowers , on that particular time I was dreamt about Silsila. Your very essence in the air surround us. That was the lyrics.
Actually the song was celebration of their love. The song and movie became a huge hit. And Akthar got special recognition in the Hindi film world and he became popular after this.
