Salil Chowdari was one of strong pillars and versatile musician in Indian music world. He was a colossus and weaved music and magic together. Be it folks , westernized, philosophical Salil Chowdary successfully come out with big bang in his scores. If he did lesser number of songs in 70’s his songs were the evidence of how he changed his work style with changing time.
Basu Chatterji’s Choti Si Baat was big example of this. The movie was released in 1975. An ordinary unusual man played by Amol Palekar as Arun and the next door girl played by Vidhya Sinha as Prabha.
Jaaneman Jaaneman song was simple and Charming yet. Because of the innocence of lyrics aswellas music. The song situation was amusing and situational alike. Arun Jumped off into romantic trance when he imagines Prabha.
What a lovely duet it was Yesudas and Asha bhosle , if it is the debut song of Yesudas. The mandolin and vibrating violins and sweet piccolo flute. Darmendra and Yesudas make an entry like Yellow flowers shown on the screen.
